Day 3: Palermo

The beautiful western corner of Sicily awaits you today!

You will first reach Erice, an unforgettable medieval hill town overlooking the blue of the Mediterranean. The historic center is surrounded by defensive walls, crowned by a castle and dominated by mountains. Here you will live the sublime culinary experience of eating the famous "cannolo" in a historic pastry shop considered one of the symbolic places of the Sicilian pastry tradition.

Traveling along the panoramic road that runs along the coast from Trapani to Marsala, you will enjoy an extraordinary view of dazzling white salt mountains shimmering in the sun and you will visit the suggestive Salt Museum.

Lunch will be at a local restaurant where you can enjoy a perfectly cooked Cous Cous ,  which is the typical dish of this part of Sicily thanks to the Arab influence. On the westernmost tip of the island of Sicily is Marsala, a port city known above all as the cradle of the famous Marsala wine that you will taste in one of the oldest local wineries. Dinner will be in a local restaurant and we really invite you not to miss the "pasta with sardines" or "pasta alla norma". Two of the many culinary wonders of Sicilian cuisine!

Day 4: Taormina

Time to leave this side of the island and head to eastern Sicily, where the beautiful city of Taormina will be your home for the next few days.  Crossing the island to reach the east side you will have the pleasure of enjoying an excellent lunch and a tasting of fine wines in one of the most beautiful and renowned wineries located on the southern slope of the Etna volcano, “The Gambino Winery”.

Sipping a glass of the best Etna wines while admiring the splendid Mediterranean sea from afar is just like a dream come true!

Day 5: Taormina

Today will be your chance to literally “put your hand in dough” with a fun and yet educational cooking class experience! We all know that sicilian cuisine is well known for its aromas and fragrances and is also  without doubt one of the most famous in the world. You will cook some of the most traditional dishes directly in the "cucina" with the help of a personal chef and then enjoy all that you have cooked.

An afternoon walking tour of the beautiful town of Taormina will follow. The downtown center represents a variety of historical periods, from  early Greek and Roman settlements , to the remains of Byzantine and medieval constructions up to  15th century  buildings and 17th century Baroque churches and palaces. Balance of the day will be all yours and do not forget to enjoy a delicious and refreshing Granita!

Day 6: Taormina

Today we will take you to the discovery of two of the most genuine products of Sicilian food and wine, cheese and chocolate in the beautiful “Val Di Noto”, with its late Baroque city of Modica, which has been included in the Unesco World Heritage list since 2002.

The first destination will be a local artisan cheese farm where you will have  the chance to see the cheese making process and taste the delicious freshly made products. A homemade light lunch  made with local products will follow. After lunch, we will reach the town of Modica: the guardian of a 400-year tradition of Sicilian chocolate making. Belonging to the kingdom of Spain for many years meant that Sicily was often one of the first recipients of new food products brought from South America such as cocoa.
