PRIVATE - Discover the Charm of Malcesine: A Scenic Tour on the Shores of Lake Garda
The heart of Malcesine, on the northeastern shore of Lake Garda, has preserved the charm of a small medieval village centered around its castle, the Scaliger Castle, which has stood for centuries on the steep cliff overlooking the lake. Through narrow alleys, small streets, and little squares, you reach the old harbor and the historic Palazzo dei Capitani. From the peaks of the imposing Monte Baldo massif, at its feet, the intense blue of Lake Garda stretches out, offering a breathtaking view from the castle tower: a unique panorama that ranges from the rugged rocky cliffs between Limone and Riva del Garda to the gentle moraine hills behind Sirmione!
We will reach the Scaliger Castle of Malcesine by crossing the most hidden, labyrinthine alleys of the village! After a short stop at the viewpoint, a drawbridge will take us into the first of several courtyards, which we access through doors and walkways on multiple levels. In the small barracks, we will take a look at the fascinating multimedia exhibition that will bring to life the geological and natural history of this incredible Mediterranean region at the foot of mountains over 2,000 meters high! Then, the Goethe Hall and the Scaliger Palace will captivate you with the incredible story of 30 Venetian galleys coming down from the mountains!
And to finish, a climb to the keep is a must, where you'll find yourself 70 meters above the lake! Our small but unforgettable magnificent adventure!
