This private tour is a full immersion in the heart of ancient Rome taking you to discover the Baths of Caracalla, the Circus Maximus and the Ancient Appian Way. A journey back in time, to the glorious days of what was once a great empire, right in the beating heart of ancient Rome.
Your passionate local guide will lead you to discover the majestic Baths of Caracalla: the finest example of great Roman baths and one of the largest thermal complexes of antiquity named after the famous emperor and soldier. Later you will stop to admire the remains of the Circus Maximus. Established as a chariot racing circus, this is where the thrilling and deadly horse racing took place, often reenacted in iconic films such as Ben-hur.
It will then be time to head to another iconic symbol of the Roman era: the ancient Via Appia. Universally considered one of the greatest civil engineering works of the ancient world due to the enormous economic, military and cultural impact it had on Roman society, the "Regina Viarum" was immersed in a lush countryside and still today you will have the feeling of being in the open countryside walking on the real stones of the oldest Roman road still existing.
