Meeting with licensed tour guide in Bellagio. Mini-cruise on private taxi-boat to skirt lake towns such as Tremezzo and Varenna and circumnavigate Bellagio peninsula, the "pearl of the lake," located on a promontory tip where the lake forks. Disembark for guided tour of Villa Melzi d'Eril, built between 1808-1810 for Francesco Melzi d'Eril (1753-1816), Duke of Lodi, Vice President of the Italian Republic under Napoleon and later Grand Chancellor of the Napoleonic Kingdom of Italy. The English-style gardens were designed by architect Luigi Canonica and botanist Luigi Villoresi. Walk through the historic center and finish with special Italian wine tasting with cold cuts and cheeses at a quaint winery.
