Private - Venice walking tour with kids
This tour is especially designed for children: we tailored it to the need and interests of our younger guests so that they end up being our audience. Through the entire tour the guide will use simple and comprehensible language and introduce a few basic concepts that will enable our younger guests to understand how Venice was built, how it developed through the centuries and why it ended up being such a rich merchant city. Meeting the official guide in St. Mark’s Square and - first - visit the square of Saint Mark and its beautiful Basilica, climbing to the upper terrace to enjoy the view of the square. Indoors there are several models of the church to understand how it was built and decorated, framed mosaics where kids can be shown how they were created and of course the striking bronze horses brought from Constantinople, the greatest casts of the antiquity. Later on we’ll leave the square on board of our private motorboat for a thrilling ride including part of the Grand Canal. Besides the beauty of the Palazzos one gets to see how the city relies on the waterways for transport and delivery, leading our imagination back to the old times, when fewer bridges were built and people heavily relied on boats. A short walk will take us later to a mask workshop where children will be told as masks are made and why they were so extensively used in Venice in the past. And of course, when needed, there will always be an ice-cream place within reach to freshen up!
