In the city of magnificent paintings few commands as much attention as the frescoes of Cappella Brancacci, work of Masaccio, Masolino da Panicale and Filippino Lippi. They are considered some of the most important in Western art, executed at the cusp of the Renaissance whose innovation and invention would influence painters for generations to come.
Santa Maria Novella, mother church of the city's Dominican order is another highlight of this art tour. This gothic basilica has for centuries kept countless masterpieces such as Masaccio's "The Trinity", the first cycle of frescoes in the chapel by Filippo Strozzi and the most important cycle by Domenico del Ghirlandaio.
