Private Grand Canal & Unknown Venice Boat Tour
Meet your private tour escort in St. Mark’s Square and departure from St. Mark’s waterfront by private reserved motor-launch for a view of the city from a completely different perspective.
Escape the hordes of tourist to discover a relaxing and rewarding experience as you glide down the main street of Venice.
This tour provides the ideal sightseeing tours of the city of Venice for first-time visitors to enjoy an intimate experience of the waterways of Venice while listening to the detailed commentary of your tour
escort. The first part of the tour is held down the Grand Canal at a relaxed pace with numerous photo opportunities as your tour escort introduces you to the splendid Palaces, Churches, Bridges and other
Monumental buildings that line the main waterway of Venice. Learn the history and evolution of the main street of Venice, and be entertained by anecdotes about the famous and infamous people that once lived along this celebrated waterway.
The second part of the tour is held through the minor canals of Venice. In the unknown Venice, as you travel through the city districts of Venice, you'll get a full overview of the city, enjoy picture postcard views of the most romantic parts of the city and explore some of the lesser known parts of the city, while meandering through the back and smaller canals
connecting the many islands forming Venice.
You’ll admire the first Cathedral of Venice in the Castello area, San Pietro, then you’ll enter the imposing “Water Gate” to access the Arsenal, the historic shipyard and depot when Venice was an important mercantile city. By boat you’ll also sail out in the open lagoon, passing by Murano and the
cemetery island of San Michele, while enjoying fine views (on clear days) of the Dolomites mountains in the distance. Then, continuing our route through the labyrinth of back canals of the city, we'll explore the
Cannaregio district and see some of its most charming canals. At the Jewish ghetto, enjoy a quick stop (about 15/20 minutes) to take some photos of this picturesque corner of the city. Then, continue your journey via some of the back canals in the Santa Croce and Dorsoduro areas, with external view to the famous Gondola workshop where craftsmen still produce the traditional Venetian Gondolas.
