A picturesque space opens out within the labyrinth of canals: silence, colours and memories of bygone Venice. Scenes from everday life are reflected in the tranquil waters of basin, where gondolas lazily move to and fro. Far from the waves created by heavy water-craft, in the very heart of Venice, between Saint Mark’s and Rialto, the Bacino Orseolo gondola depot offers an efficient excursion service, both for groups and individual tourists. From here the gondoliers will carefully guide you into their gondolas, and accompany you along the most romantic of routes, pointing out the most important historical and artistic buildings, the central part of the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge.
