Food Tasting in Bologna

A pleasant walking tour to enjoy the authentic atmosphere of Bologna, home to the oldest university of Europe, featuring one of the best preserved medieval centers of Italy, with its 30 miles of old porticos and more than twenty medieval towers.

The tour starts in Piazza Maggiore, the main city square, where we will admire the wonderful late Renaissance Neptune Fountain, Palazzo Comunale (City Hall), and other important public buildings such as Palazzo del Podestà, Palazzo dei Banchi, and Palazzo dei Notai. We’ll take a look inside Basilica di San Petronio (a late Gothic church featuring the Meridian Line and the 15 th century frescoed Bolognini Chapel) and the Archiginnasio Palace, the historic seat of Bologna’s University, the oldest one in the Western world. Don’t miss the famous medieval Garisenda and Asinelli towers, symbol of the city, and a walk through the colourful old market quarters, brimming with food stores selling the delightful
Bolognese food specialties: handmade tortellini, tortelloni and tagliatelle, Parmigiano cheese, mortadella and other meat products.
